Overview

I̽lö Ol Hadfow was founded durring the late 17th century in late summer of the year 1584, by Jendeth. The establishment of I̽lö Ol Hadfow was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding I̽lö Ol Hadfow's construction back out of the project. Jendeth pushed on reguardles, and I̽lö Ol Hadfow was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

I̽lö Ol Hadfow was built using the conventions of Wood Elf durring the late 17th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and I̽lö Ol Hadfow is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

I̽lö Ol Hadfow is buildings are arranged arrounded a highly ordered system of crampt paverstone streets which form triangular paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The city is protected by a well-crafted cobblestone fence tall enough to provide adiquite cover for defenders to fire from, but no more than that. The city's frontieer-style defences have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the city.

A quick look in any direction shows I̽lö Ol Hadfow is filled with vices. There are many taverns, brothels are advertising their services on the streets, cardsharks are plying their illicit trade within public squairs, and every shop has at least three signs advertising various sales on goods. That alone wouldn’t be too noticeable, if it wasn’t just so omnipresent and overwhelmingly how the people of this city live. Or if the general public wasn’t so enthusiastically, openly, and merrily participating in these activities.

Cultural Notes

I̽lö Ol Hadfow's locals despise outsiders. For some “outsiders” may be natives of foreign lands, while others might have a grudge against anyone from outside the community. These locals have an active loathing, and the outsiders allowed to trade or interact with them do so at a heavy disadvantage.

I̽lö Ol Hadfow's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known primarily for its use of abstraction and simplicity. Clean lines, right angles, and primary colors characterized this aesthetic and art movement expressed via architecture and paintings. Its design ethos allows only primary colors and non-colors, only squares and rectangles, only straight and horizontal or vertical lines. Vertical and horizontal lines are positioned in layers or planes that do not intersect, thereby allowing each element to exist independently and unobstructed by other elements. These seemingly impossible principals for an architectural style coalesces into structures which most experts find hard to put into words. It is not that their geometry is impossible, but rather the style's attempt at producing works only describable visually was most successful..

In I̽lö Ol Hadfow the stars are always right.

The Bat, Mobat near I̽lö Ol Hadfow are known to be more aggressive than normal.

I̽lö Ol Hadfow's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves creating small tokens to channel Abjuration energies of tier 1 via throat chanting.
